Biography of Take That Boys Band.

Take That
are a boy band that originated in Manchester, England in 1990 consisting of Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald. Between the band's first single release in 1991 and their cataclysmic breakup in 1996, the BBC described Take That as "the most successful British band since the Beatles, beloved of young and old alike". The band reformed with the exception of Robbie Williams in 2006 when they released a new single, album and toured the UK.

Take That's dance-pop tunes and soulful ballads dominated the British charts in the first half of the 1990s, spawning two of the best selling albums of the decade with 'Everything Changes' 1993 and 'Greatest Hits' 1996, and according to the AMG Music Guides, "at this time were giant superstars in Europe with the main question about them not being about whether they could get a hit single, but how many and which would make it to number one".

Robbie Williams leaves the band in 1995 and starts a solo carreer.
The band split in 1996, and Gary Barlow and Mark Owen each embarked on solo careers, with Howard moving in to DJ and production work and Jason into acting. After moderate success and a 2005 documentary, they (with the exception of Robbie) announced a 2006 tour around the United Kingdom.

They began recording again in 2006 having put royalty-disputes which were partly responsible for their initial break up behind them. In late November 2006, they released their first album in over 10 years, and the first single went straight to number one in the UK charts.
